The Michael Project

This is River of Life's work with orphaned and vulnerable children and includes two pre-schools, a daycare centre in Chikurubi prison and Shalom Children's Home. In addition, The Michael Project advocates for the local church to be the solution to the 1.6 million orphans in Zimbabwe, through adoption, foster care and places of safety. This is done through church community leaders meetings, workshops and support groups. For more information visit http://themichaelproject.org

St Catherine’s

Is a school for children with learning disabilities in our community where we have the opportunity to serve each week by leading the school assembly on a Friday morning or going in to volunteer in assisting the school with maintenance or other classroom/ sporting activities.

Chiedza Outreach

This is an initiative which is bringing together Newcreation (Street Kids Organization) and River of Life Eastlea. The initiative commenced in August 2014. It seeks to reach out to homeless children and adults in the Eastlea community. It will run on Wednesdays between 12pm to 4pm. The main focus of this initiative is to win the destitute(s) for Christ giving them hope and feed them a descent meal, before socializing through playing of sport and one-on-one teaching of life skills. The street kids love “Chiedza” and have demonstrated a satisfactory level of commitment to the efforts and show encouraging signs of rehabilitation. At the moment supplies and subsequent preparation of food is heavily dependent on members of the church who would like to contribute in cash or food stuffs. *(Chiedza is light in the Shona language)

SOZO Ministry

SOZO (Greek) was a word often used by Jesus, meaning ‘saved, healed and delivered’. The word SOZO encompasses everything about being made whole, well and free.

River of Life Church SOZO* ministry is committed to get individuals intimately connected with God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This ministry is a thread God is using in the body of Christ to restore identity and bring freedom to individuals, allowing them to walk out their God given destiny.

Why would I go for a SOZO
Hebrews 12 verse 1 & 2a... "let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of our faith."

In the course of life we pick up things that hinder or entangle us: childhood hurts, offenses, lies we believe,

sinful choices, trauma. All these prevent us from experiencing the abundant life that Jesus' blood purchased for us.

Some SOZO foundations
Sessions are facilitated by teams of men and women who are passionate about seeing people brought into freedom having themselves experienced freedom and inner healing through SOZO.

We base our interactions on:-
A culture of honour; the belief that we are all created in the image of God, we have all sinned and nothing is beyond God's redemption. As such there is no judgement made.
A culture of courage and vulnerability; we encourage everyone to be open and honest knowing that it is safe place.
Confidentiality; we honour courage and vulnerability in a confidential environment.

What does a SOZO session involve?
A SOZO session can run from 1.5 - 2 hours and is conducted by two to three team members who will sit with you and with the help of the Holy Spirit walk you through the process of freedom and wholeness. Sozo is not a counselling session but a time of interacting with Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. The team members seek to honour you at all times. The more open you are the more freedom you will experience.
